In 2022, the club held a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for our junior section. Our keen juniors and their parents took part in the 20 mile bike ride from Stanhope to Swalwell and gained sponsors for their participation across the route. The money raised enabled the club to purchase a new roll on net cage to assist at Junior coaching sessions for the development of our future stars. 

Due to the success and believe it or not, fun that was had on the day, the club will be doing it all over again on Sunday 16th April. This is going to be an annual event and held in memory of former club member David Graham. David was an integral part of the success of past junior teams and current players at Blackfyne so we thought it was only fitting that the event could continue the good work of his years of effort put in for the club he loved. The ride will again take place from Stanhope to Swalwell and begin around midday. People don't have to do the entire route and can join up at set points along the way if they wish to do a smaller portion of it. 

With monies raised, the club hopes to purchase a new bowling machine for use at our outdoor nets, as well as make some improvements to the existing net facilities we have at Blackfyne.

After the ride, we invite everyone to return to the club for refreshments. Once people are at the club, we will be unveiling the name of the recently refurbished downstairs bar and would appreciate members old and new coming along in support of this. This is likely to be from around 5pm on the day.
