Premises License Update

06 Apr 2022

Good afternoon everyone,

Thank you very much to all of those who submitted kind words as part of our varied license application to Durham County Council. Club DPS (licensee), Ian, attended a hearing at County Hall on Monday to determine the outcome. As a result of deliberation and a willingness to understand the concerns of our local residents and relevant authorities, some changes were made to what we chose to ask for.

The sub-committee who presided over the hearing, were pleased with the progress made to satisfy the licensing objectives, and as a result, have agreed to vary our license so that we are able to utilise our downstairs bar and patio area.

There are some terms and conditions applied to our license in terms of what we can do, we are having CCTV installed which helps to both safeguard the club from intruders but also increase the level of safety for our patrons and staff. As ever we must remind visitors to respect our local neighbours - noise levels when entering and leaving the premises, respect for their property and ensuring that you use the supplied club car-parks so as not to cause any obstructions on Hope Street, Redwood Court or the surrounding area.

The attachment will show a summary of our new licensed hours, we now just look forward to some sunshine and our first games to get underway so that we can welcome you all along to our ever improving facilities for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks again everyone, The Committee
