Funding application to Your Money, You Area, Your Views

16 Nov 2013

On Saturday 16th November an event will take place in St Patrick's Church Hall in Consett which our club have been invited to be part of.

The Derwent Valley Partnership have funding available to local organisations and are running a day titled Your Money, Your Area, Your Views. The idea of this is that local organisations have been able to apply for a share of an overall pot of money in order to help them improve their businesses, facilities, clubs or whatever background they may come from. Our applications was deemed successful so therefore we have been invited to present our ideas at their event. We have a applied for a grant of £2500 in order to purchase some new covers and make other improvements to our groundwork machinery in order to maintain the high standards of facilities we are able to provide to all of our members all year round and feel that we would really benefit from this in order to continue to improve and aim ever higher for the future.

On the day there will be two representatives from our club there giving a presentation and answering any questions on our given project. They will be; Club Chairman - Alan Waters and Club Accountant - Colin MacPherson as they are of course the two best qualified for the job and will do an excellent job of selling our club.

All that we ask as a club is that people could spare 5 minutes of their time on Saturday 16th November and pop along and vote for our project. Basically the projects with the most votes will secure the level of funding for which they have requested. You do not need to be there all day but if you could please bring any friends, family, acquaintances etc along to cast a vote for Consett CC then that would be brilliant. The hall is open to the public between the hours of 10am and 2.30pm so make sure you don't miss the deadline and pop along to see the 2 cheery souls doing their bit in the hope of bettering things at the club for EVERYONE. You will have to vote for 3 projects on the day so just vote for any 2 other projects you feel should benefit from a grant. If you only vote for one project on your form then the vote does not count so please make sure you fill the form in properly.

We fully appreciate all your time and efforts given to this cause in advance and hope to see as many of you as possible on the day. Remember it's your club, not the committee's and as Alan would always say, "Ask not what your club can do for you but what can you do for your club" 16th November is a prime time to put this saying to good use!!!
