Hello everyone,
Just a little update as to what we have coming up this month.
On Saturday 23rd October we are having our Senior Presentation Evening. After such a successful year we are making a fuss of it and have enlisted the help of Durham legend Chris Rushworth as well as his mate Jonny Hayes as part of their 'Length Does Matter' podcast series. This will see our evening featured on their podcasts (god help them). On the night we will toast out trophy winners, there will be local cricket chat from Chris and Jonny, a Q&A session for you to have your chance to ask the professional his thoughts on the game as well as having a good laugh while doing so. This will be a free event but if you are attending then can you please let Coxy know ASAP if you plan to attend. This is open to players, club members, sponsors and all, so let's fill the club and celebrate what has been a fantastic 2021 season. Doors open 6pm
Friday 29th sees our Saturday barmaid Laura having a gathering for birthday drinks for her 40th birthday, there is an open invite to club members if they'd like to come and help her not remember such a milestone.... Doors open 7pm
Saturday 30th sees the return of Aka's infamous quiz night. Given the date a Halloween theme will be prominent. Fancy dress is encouraged but not essential. As always, someone will spend the evening being the figure of fun (probably the chairman) as well as the opportunity for winning prizes throughout. These quizzes are never for the boffins, as those who have attended previously will know that Aka always finds questions to keep everyone interested to go alongside his spot prizes for various tasks, Jack Marshall can testify to how embarrassing these can potentially be.... Our darts team are also now up and running for the year and play their games on Tuesday evenings. Home games see the bar open from 7-11 and are a great excuse for people to get together for a catch up during the off season. A full list of home fixtures will be published on our website.
