Eric Topham Trophy

27 Jul 2014

Sunday 27th August sees the inaugural Eric Topham trophy being hosted at Consett CC. This is a trophy hosted in memory of Eric at his wife Joan's request. Eric was a keen supporter of cricket in the Derwentside area having played for Shotley Bridge, Medomsley and Leadgate and later going on to be an umpire who frequented Blackfyne. The day will see his previous clubs and host club Consett take part in a 6 a side competition to determine the winners with the rules pretty much in line with those of the Hong Kong sixes event. The day promises to be fun for all in attendance with high run rates the order of the day!!!

To compliment the cricket there will be inflatables for children, a BBQ for all to feed themselves on and as ever the bar will be open all day for those wishing to quench their thirst!! Would be great to see as many of you in attendance as possible whether it's to cheer your respective teams on or just to come and watch a spot of fun and exciting local cricket played in just the spirit it was intended. It all kicks off from 1pm so get yourselves along...
