Consett & District Cricket Club event

2026 AGM

10 December 2026 from 20:00 to 21:30 at Consett Cricket Club.

Cost : £0.00

Hello everyone,

Our 2026 AGM is scheduled for Thursday 10th December at 8pm. On the evening there will be a review of how the previous year has gone for the club on and off the field, a financial review with audited accounts provided and a vision for the year ahead.

We will also be electing officers into posts for the year ahead. Anyone is able to stand for any of the posts or become involved in the running of the club. If you wish to stand for any of the positions at the club, you will need to contact the club secretary - Sarah Llewellyn-Dixon by e-mail secconsettcc@gmail.com and will need to get two separate paid up club members to propose and second your nomination, as well as attending the AGM to be sworn into post. If more than one person chooses to stand for any given post, it will go to a vote to the room on the evening, with only paid club members eligible to vote. If a vote is tied, the most senior club official in attendance shall have the final casting vote.

The list of posts that people can stand for is listed below and those that will definitely (at time of posting) require a new nominee for 2027 will be listed as vacant;

Club Welfare Officer

Fixtures Secretary - Vacant

Anyone can join the junior or club committees, new views and opinions are always welcomed. We will also be looking for any volunteers who wish to undergo a Level 2 coaching course who would be keen to help out with our junior coaching sessions and to assist with the running of junior teams. As a result of our ever expanding junior section, we will need extra pairs of hands to help out on match days and at training sessions. The last thing we want to have to do is put a cap on numbers when there is a hunger for people wishing to play. Anyone who undertakes a coaching course, will have the cost of this fully reimbursed by the club once they have helped with 6 games/training sessions after the completion of their course and subsequent accreditation.

Anyone who wishes to see any changes made to the club rules or constitution, can submit these to the secretary not later than 14 days prior to the commencement of the AGM itself with a deadline of 8pm on Thursday 27th November. The club constitution can be found here - https://consettcc.hitscricket.com/pages/page_22867/Club-Rules.aspx and the club code of conduct here - https://consettcc.hitscricket.com/pages/page_8444/CodeofConductforMembersandGuest.aspx

We look forward to seeing you all in attendance so that you can have a say on YOUR club. An agenda for the meeting will be circulated in due course.
