Azim is to be our overseas professional for the 2021 season. Azim currently plays first-class cricket in India for Maharashtra, who are based in the city of Pune. He is an exciting left handed middle-order batsman and a more than useful left-arm orthodox spin bowler. He is classed as a genuine all rounder and will add so much to our 1st X1 in 2021. 

He has represented Maharashtra in all 3 formats and boasts a highest first-class score of 140 and best bowling of 3/72. In List-A games he averages 25 with the bat with a more than useful strike rate of 88 and a highest score of 84, as well as averaging just 17 with the ball and having a strike rate of 23 to compliment his best of 5/46. In T20 he performs admirably, averaging 36.44 with the bat at a strike rate of 125 (which in modern terms is an excellent batting index of 161 for those who like modern stats) and a highest of 71 not out. He also performs very well with the ball in T20 despite not always getting his full quota of overs with his best of 4-0-10-2 in his most recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game in January 21 and an impressive economy rate of 6.85 playing against India's finest on what can sometimes be considered very small grounds.
