Eric Topham Trophy 2017

04 Aug 2017

After a successful edition which was excellently organised by Andrew Waters in 2016 which saw Lanchester defeat Shotley Bridge in front of one of the largest crowds seen at Balckfyne seen for some time it is no surprise to see the popular competition taking place again this year. The draw was made at the club's Management meeting in May and details of that is as follows;

First round (quarter -final) ties are to be played by Friday 30th June, second round (semi-final) ties by Monday 24th July and then the final will be held at Blackfyne on Friday 4th August.

Round 1 - 1 Whickham vs Lintz

                 2 Shotley Bridge vs Beamish

                3 Lanchester vs Leadgate

                4 Consett vs Annfield Plain

Round 2 - 5 Whickham/Lintz vs Shotley Bridge/Beamish

                 6 Lanchester/Leadgate vs Consett/Annfield Plain

Final - Winner of 5 vs Winner of 6

All games will commence at 6pm and played over 20 overs. Tight wides and free hits for no balls will apply as per regular T20 competitions. No bowler to bowl more than 25% of the overs. All other normal match play rules apply. Best of luck to all the teams and let's see whether Lanchester will retain their crown or if we will have a new name added this time around....
