Practice Net Appeal

01 Jan 2018

Our latest initiative at Consett CC is to improve our practice facilities. Despite the best efforts of club grant winner Colin we have been unable to secure funding so far for this with the cost of professionally fitted ones being quite an eye watering one! After making enquiries we realised it would be possible for us to carry out this task ourselves along with the help of much smaller financial amounts and get some permanent outdoor nets fitted to benefit everyone at the club from junior level up.

1st X1 captain Gary came up with the novel idea of a fund raising chart to show our progress in our attempts to reach our goal which he announced to everyone at the senior presentation night, an idea that was warmly received by all of those in attendance. He also set the ball rolling by donating the first £100 towards the efforts only to be outdone by the generosity of the clubs very own King Kamran who also offered to make a very generous donation towards the efforts.

Anyone is able to contribute toward the effort no matter how large or small of an amount they feel that they could or would like to donate. Do so by purchasing a one of the bricks from the club's brick appeal, donating anonymously or maybe even suggesting local businesses who you think may wish to get on board with such an initiative. Any amount is always gracefully received by the club and we are always humbled by people's continued generosity.

Again this is all part of our commitment to take the club forward in as many directions possible as the place is much more than just a 1st X1 or just a bar. The club as it is termed refers to each and every one of our members no matter what level they play or volunteer at and also applies to all of those who come along as spectators or visitors to our social events.

A wise man once said (more than once to be precise) - Ask not what your club can do for you but what you can do for your club..... He has certainly got the right idea and we hope many more of you can buy into this.

Anyone wishing to contribute should get in touch with a member of the committee for any further guidance or any questions or suggestions that they may have. Many thanks in advance, Consett CC Committee
