Start of season guidance and bar update

15 Apr 2021

Evening all.

The season finally gets underway on Saturday 17th April. The 1st X1 play host to Ryton while the 2nd X1 make the trip to Tynemouth to take on their 3rd X1.

We have to remind people that spectators are not permitted to attend games during stage 2 of the roadmap. We are aware that our ground is not fully enclosed so it would be difficult for us to police this and having shared our concerns with the council, they have advised us that our duty is to remind people not to attend unless they are the parent/guardian/carer of a junior member of one of the teams playing on the day.

We will however have our hospitality area open. You are allowed to sit in this area during games and be served drinks via TABLE SERVICE ONLY. We appreciate that this isn't an ideal situation for some, but we must stick to government guidance or we risk being heavily penalised financially by the council and/or police if we do not comply.

The bar is just about ready and will be able to serve a limited drink selection on Saturday. Please have patience with our bar staff as this is brand new to us and will be very much trial and error until we get the hang of things. We might make mistakes but it will only help us to get better. The bar will be operating as a cashless facility as requested by the council. You CAN NOT go to the bar to order or pay for drinks, please do not be offended if we refuse to serve you if you attempt to be served in this manner.

To help make this run more smoothly (or so we hope), we have registered with Waiterly - The Table Service App for you to order and pay for your drinks. You can download the app in advance from here - iPhone - https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/waiterly-table-ordering-app/id1548272123 or Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waiterlyapp We appreciate that this might not suit everyone but we can only try our best to find a system that works for us in the short term until we can allow patrons to go back to the bar. We also have QR codes on display for you to scan and download the app. Each table will have a QR code on for the menu also so that you can access our product range and order your drinks.

Another step into the unknown, but at least we have sunshine and the season beginning which is a much better position than we were in this time last year.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
