Now that everyone who took part has hopefully managed to get out of bed or off the sofa, now would be a great time to reflect on what took place on Sunday.
After a fair whack of organisation, we must start by thanking Mark Dixon for putting this idea into practice. He chased up players to get them to come along, put the squads together and organised the rotation of fixtures on the day. Another big thank you to all of those who took part, helped out on the day, came along to support and an especially big thanks to Andy Hughes and AGH Engineering who sponsored the event which allowed us to get shirts for all of the participants, hire a bouncy castle and cover all of the other associated costs with hosting such a day, his continued support is very much appreciated.
`Everyone who took part appeared to have a fantastic day, it's also safe to say that some of them stopped playing too soon and should be giving serious consideration to getting their whites fished out from the back of the wardrobe and their bags out from the loft and getting back involved on a more permanent basis...
It was great to see so many families come along and enjoy a brilliant day in the sunshine and we can only hope that this is something that we are able to do again in future.
Former 1st X1 Kevin Hopps who turned out on the day, took the time to put together some fantastic drone footage of the occasion which can be viewed here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RAVAqxpLL8 and regular visiting snapper Colin Ebdale also put his camera lens to good work and you can see what he captured throughout the day here - https://www.facebook.com/colin.ebdale Colin is also to credit for the full view of all those who took part which is attached to this emial.
As always, it was great to have you all down supporting the club, it makes a huge difference each and every time you all come along. Please remember that we have more events upcoming such as our former players and sponsors day on 25th July, a race night on 7th August, our Consett Select X1 v Sri Lanka on Sunday 9th August, Ladies Night on 22nd August and more. Please keep an eye on our social media channels as well as Spond for upcoming events and updates and please continue to show the same fantastic levels of support, it really is appreciated!
