Match report Exellent win for Consett, after a long drive to a new ground. Consett won the toss and chose to bat first. With regular opening batsman Davey Anderson away on holiday captain John Chapman stepped up to do the job with vc Gary Hunter. A good move as the pair shared an opening stand of 129 in 34 overs before Chapman departed for a good innings of 76. Hunter carried his bat for the innings and fell 1 run short of getting his century. Going into tea the team in a strong position posting 214 for 2 of the 50 overs claiming all 5 batting bonus points but were looking for the full 20 points. Mark Dixon claimed the first wicket in the second over on his third ball, with Hunter taking a good catch at first slip. Dixon struck with his first ball of his second over, clipping the top of off stump. Breese then stole the show with the ball after that claiming the next six wickets for only 17 runs and his last over went for 8. Rob Hasan claiming the last two wicket both cleaned bowled. A great victory for the team.
