Consett & District Cricket Club Won By 69 runs

Match report Consett welcomed Alnmouth & Lesbury to Blackfyne looking to bounce back following their loss last week. Skipper John Chapman won the toss and elected to bat. This proved to be a good decision as Kamran and Gary shared an opening stand of 164 runs, with Kam producing a brilliant entertaining innings of 121 from 81 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes, and Gary providing a solid innings of 57 from 112 balls, with 4 fours and a six.

Consett finally finished on 233-9 after their 50 overs.

In reply, Alnmouth made a good start before Dan Milligan removed opener Hughes for 24. Again Alnmouth showed fight but then Kamran was brought into the attack and took 2 wickets in 3 overs, both caught by Chapman, to remove Bates and Pearson, who had earlier put on 67 for the 2nd wicket.

Once Dan had bowled Vickers for 9 to claim his 2nd wicket of the afternoon, Consett then removed the last 6 wickets for 34 runs, with some good bowling by Dan, Rob Hasan, Mark Dixon and Kam, who finished with figures of 5-28, to round off a good individual day for him and a good win for the club, which saw us claim 20 valuable points.
